Everyone’s journey is personal and unique, but we all go through emotionally and physically tiring periods in life and sometimes we feel like it will be difficult to get out of the mess. We forget that everything passes, that everything flows, like the waves we observe on the beach, which follow one after the other and are never identical. We always have the possibility to change our point of view and therefore the perception of things around and inside ourselves. Like a child who takes apart his toy to understand how it works and who will never see it in the same way again because he has taken ownership of its secret, he can appreciate it in a different way and play with it knowingly.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

Humanistic counselling & Carl Rogers<\/h3>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

Humanistic therapy, also called \u201cClient-Centered Therapy\u201d<\/em> by Carl Rogers, is a technique based on the premise of a positively oriented, actualizing tendency inherent in all living organisms.<\/p>

Carl Rogers<\/span>, a famous American psychologist (1902-1987), spent his life exploring the processes of change in human beings and developed a non-directive working method in which the therapist adhered to three basic conditions in his work with the client:<\/p>

Congruence<\/span><\/strong>
The therapist establishes an authentic relationship with the client. There is congruity between what he feels, thinks, and does; There is congruity between what he feels, thinks, and does;<\/p>

Empathy<\/span><\/strong>
The therapist is sensitive to the client’s experience and to his way of communicating, he is able to understand the situation from the client’s point of view, as if he was the client, without being overwhelmed by his experience;<\/p>

Unconditional acceptance<\/span><\/strong>
The therapist considers the client as a person without judging his experience. He chooses a reflective distance.<\/p>

Rogers’ method, introduced in France in the 1950s places emphasis on the quality of the relationship between the therapist and the client with the aim of promoting the individual’s development.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

\n\t\t\t\t\t

Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP)<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tNLP was born in the early 1970s thanks to the research of two talented Californian academics, John Grinder<\/span> and Richard Bandler<\/span>, who were interested in the exceptional communication skills of three people in particular : Fritz Perls, the founding therapist of Gestalt, Virginia Satir, a family therapist, and Milton H. Erickson, a psychiatrist and psychologist who played an important role in the renewal of clinical hypnosis.

Grinder and Bandler were able to establish a set of language-based techniques with the aim of studying the structure of subjective experience, namely how a person thinks (internal dialogue, beliefs, etc.), feels (emotions) and acts (verbal and non-verbal language).\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

NLP isn’t so much about what is “true or false” but rather about what works and what doesn’t.<\/h3>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

In this sense, it represents a veritable toolbox for communication and change, with the aim of developing individuals’ interpersonal skills. It seeks to provide practical tools for a better communication, learning, and growth.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

Who is Serena ?<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

Someone passionate about human relations, which led me, in the first part of my life, to devote myself to the study of foreign languages \u200b\u200band literatures and to do, once I finished my university studies, a Master’s degree for conference interpreters.<\/p>

I lived and worked abroad, discovered the world and above all myself before entering the world of coaching where I followed a training articulated on two axes, becoming a humanistic counsellor<\/span> and also an NLP specialist<\/span>.<\/p>
